I miss writing drabbles.

The Great A-Z Multifandom Drabbling Meme!
This is how it works:

1. Pick a letter.
   
2. Pick a prompt that starts with that letter (ex. K is for Keyhole).
   
3. Pick a fandom / comic / webcomic (if you're not sure of a fandom I might know just ask away - I can also write personal characters if I know of them) and a character/pairing. Yes, I can do more than one drabble on a particular character/pairing, just not more than one letter prompt.

1. Post a list of up to 20 books/movies/anime/TV shows/video games/bands etc. that you've had an obsessive fannish love or interest in at some time in your life.
   
   
2. Have your f-list guess your favorite character/member from each item.
   
   
3. When someone guesses correctly, strikethrough the item and put the name of your favorite character next to it.

When you see this, take a minute and share five good things of your day with the world, uncut.

1. I cleaned my apartment, including going through the fridge and freezer to remove old food.
   
2. I got a run in softball, and a double (on an error).
   
3. I made delicious stir fry for dinner.
   
4. I looked up how to make homemade cinnamon rolls for the welcome-REU-students picnic on Saturday, and I only need sugar and maybe something for the top. They sound delicious and if they don't turn out right, I can eat them anyway.
   
5. I am about to take a nice, relaxing shower and then maybe have some chocolate.

(It's hard to think of good things when you spend 90% of your day cleaning.)

Downside was that I just got a mail from Cornell that told me that a computer containing my personal information was stolen, and that I need to put out a fraud report on my information. No signs that the computer wasn't just wiped and resold to someone, but just to be sure.

JAN: I am back in New York.
FEB: So, working from home today...
MAR: So, the anime club is showing Eureka 7.
APR: I'm going to a conference (The Division of Dynamical Astronomy -- in other words 'Stuff that Moves... IN SPACE!), so may or may not be around. This was the only post I made in April. Probably because of preparations for said conference
MAY: Well, I'm home.
JUN: I discovered why I spend half of my weekends asleep.
JUL: I am currently reading Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynmann.
AUG: So, this was in response to Orson Scott Card's essay against same-sex marriage.
SEPT: So, today is Labor Day.
OCT: And, as is traditional, the NaNoWriMo site is already down due to overload.
NOV: Emily Lakdawalla at the Planetary Society, a private organization devoted to advocating for space exploration, just did a blog about a possible Neptune mission in the 2020s.
DEC:Put your MP3 player on shuffle, and write down the first line of the first twenty songs.

I start a lot of my blog posts, with 'So'.

I thought I tended to open with dialog, but it seems like I favor a statement about the protagonist, usually with thoughts, rather than actions.

My dad's last email forward included the Evil Overlord List. This time, he gave me LOLCODE.

(And he sent the email in LOLCAT. SRSLY.)

I really don't have the heart to tell Dad that I've seen most of the forwards he's sent me. I am an internet geek. At least, they are normally things I find funny.

This happened on my first full day of being 24.

Names have been changed, and all that

Scene: One of the games on Gaia. There is a chat feature.
Person A: why did you pick the name you did?
(Innocent Bystander B) enters the chat.
Me: It's an old internet handle. I've had 'stareyes' for nearly a decade. And Becca is a RL nickname.
Me: Hello
IBB: hi
PA: a decade?
PA: gtg
Person A leaves the chat.
Me: ... Apparently being online for a decade makes me old.

1) Make a list of 10 characters.
2) Assign each character a number.
3) Without telling anyone who's on the list or the character's assigned number, get questions from your flist about what they'd like to know about them.
e.g.: "If 3 and 4 were trapped in a cave together with only a blanket and a toothpick, what would they do?" (The more random the better!)
4) Post the answers and who was who on the list.

Leave a name of a series or fandom in a comment and I'll tell you my three favorite characters and my three least favorite characters, and I might provide reasons why. If I don't know the fandom, I'll look up wikipedia or some other side and look at the character profiles and pick my favorite three based on those.

I'm calling this a 'kick off the new journal' meme...
